Donijka is co founder of the Irish Online Counselling & Psychotherapy Service in addition to her work in private practice.
With a B.Sc in psychology and a post graduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy she sees counselling as an ever evolving field, and to that end, is continuing her studies in transpersonal counselling, shamanism and sound therapy, all of which work with, and beyond the story that the person seeking therapy presents with.
In 2011 Donijka and her colleague, Mary Mc Hugh established the Irish Online Counselling & Psychotherapy Service in response to a need for a professional counselling service that could be accessed by those in need, who were unable, for any reason ,to access traditional face to face counselling. She sees online counselling as playing a vital role in allowing people to access support when they need it, from a place that suits them and through a medium that feels safest for them. By having these choices, she has seen in her work, how deep connections are made and how beneficial this therapeutic relationship can be.
Donijka is originally a native of Dublin, but has lived in County Roscommon since 2001 where she has her own private practice in addition to her online work.
