Ann Marie is a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, a fully accredited member of the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and is currently studying for a post graduate degree in Integrative Adolescent Psychotherapy.
She graduated with an honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University in 2015. She also works in private practice and meets with clients face to face.
Ann Marie has worked in a number of counselling centres since receiving her qualification and has worked in student counselling services in a National University, which she found particularly rewarding. This has enabled her to gain valuable additional experience and an understanding of diverse issues that effect a client at different stages of life.
Ann Marie works in an integrative way which means that the counselling session is tailored to a client’s individual needs. The therapeutic relationship with her clients is of the utmost importance and so she focusses on building the clients trust and collaboration in order to address all concerns and difficulties. Ann Marie recognises that many people lead busy and complex lives and may need individual support to help detangle various life issues and relationships challenges. She offers a safe space where clients can begin to explore their inner thoughts and feelings in order to gain self-awareness and an understanding as to why clients do the thing they do. By gaining insight into client’s present circumstances and working with honesty and openness towards personal priorities and values, clients can begin to alter their choices and take actions towards fulfilling, more life affirming goals.
